Sound takes a shape

A mantra isn’t only something you hear. Drive a shallow film of water at one steady frequency and the surface stops churning and sets into a fixed figure of ridges and still points. This is that figure: the mantra’s own standing wave.

And you are mostly water

The claim it tempts you into

60%of the adult human body is water.

So it is tempting: sound shapes water, you are mostly water, therefore the mantra must be reshaping something in you. Sit with the wonder of it. Just not with the claim. Sound does not re-order the water in your cells, and Delve never says it does.

Why sound · the body

The way it actually reaches you

The measured route runs through your nervous system, not your cells. Chanting lengthens the exhale and engages the vagus nerve, tipping you toward the resting, parasympathetic side. A few minutes raises heart-rate variability, and near six breaths a minute the heart and breath fall into step. Delve measures none of this.

  • vagal tone
  • ≈6 breaths/min
  • HRV ↑
  • parasympathetic

The figure in the dish illustrates something real: sound has form. What settles you is plainer than that, and that is the whole of the claim.
